Ice Storm 2013

The weathermen talked about it for days...the grocery stores were packed and the shelves were empty...and hats and gloves and warm clothes were hot commodities around here. I was excited to get winter weather and looked forward to what i hoped was going to be a snow day...it all started just about the time school was letting out on Thursday and within an hour or so the raised surfaces around our house were coated in ice.  By the time we woke up on Friday we were literally encased in ice...and it would stay that way for days!  School was cancelled on Friday and Monday and for some even Tuesday...(Coulter's university was closed for almost a week right in the middle of finals!) as a family we had a fun time of hanging out, playing games, drinking hot chocolate, baking up a storm, watching movies and playing in the ice.  I am certain we will remember the Icemaggen of 2013 for a very long time~

Erin came over to play in the ice for most of one of the days we were off of school...this was before the temperatures dropped like crazy!

Merideth and friends loved pulling each other on this toboggan...it is from Bill's childhood so we are guessing it is nearly 40 years old!

This was the first morning...these two beauties had a wonderful time exploring and playing together.

It was always such a process when they came in...clothes came off and went in front of the fireplace or in the dryer so that they were ready for the next outing!

Games and family fun were the best part...next to the continuous baking or cooking that took place!
