Senior Blessing

Rockpointe church does the most amazing things for our kids...Senior Blessing Night was exactly that...a huge blessing!  It began in our Saturday night service where all the Seniors dressed up and came to be recognized.  There was a slide show that included baby pictures, school days and graduation pictures along with anticipated college plans and a note of encouragement sent in without the kids knowing about it from the parents.  Then the kids got up front to have the congregation pray over them followed by a word being spoken over them from our Senior Pastor Ron.  It wrapped up with a message from our High School Pastor Warren.  The interesting thing is that the message was relevant to everyone...young and old alike!  Busha and Bompa came to see their oldest granddaughter begin the graduation process and to support Maddie during this very special time in her life.
After church the seniors and parents only(no siblings or extended family) go to our youth area and have a  special dinner together.  Dinner was followed by a time of blessing, encouragement and wisdom...first from the leaders and then, one by one, each set of parents went to the front with their Senior and told them how proud they were of them and what they hope for them in the future.  I won't lie, tears were shed...even for kids I hardly knew!  The evening wrapped up with pictures and the feeling of being on cloud nine!
Bill and I looked at each other at one point and said "Rockpointe is exactly where we need to be and where our family needs to be...thank you Lord for leading us here!"

These ladies have poured into the lives of the high school girls...I can't explain what it means to us as parents to know that other Godly women are praying for our precious girl.  What a gift...
