An Old Fashion Birthday Party for our 6 year old!

This year we decided to have Merideth's birthday party here at the house.  She came up with several themes over the months leading up to her birthday but all she really wanted was to have fun with her friends.  We called it a mixed up birthday...here are some of the details from that day which was completely planned by her.
Merideth asked for a soccer ball birthday cake...again! Bill made the cake and Merideth helped him decorate it for her friends.

One of the activities on her party agenda was a guessing game with candy...here are the jars that the guests had to guess from. Makenna counted everything out so she was the one with all the answers.

We lined all the goodie bags up so that throughout the party the guests could fill  up the bags with the prizes  they won and craft they made

Merideth's table of fame

Balloons and streamers were requested decorations

This sweet sign was made by some neighbor girls and delivered on  Merideth's actual birthday.  They sure were surprised to see it out by the front door when they arrived.

Recycled from last years birthday...A Merideth banner for the front door greeting the guests as they arrived.

Merideth planned all the activities, requested all the decorations and helped get all the food and drinks ready for her guests. She put together the goodie bags, arranged the prize basket and picked out her outfit for the big event.  Thankfully the big sisters along with some best buddies helped get everything done during the party.

Musical chairs

Hot Potato...it was decorated to look like a face.
Presents being opened at the party... this is Merideth's sweet friend Libby.
This was the duck tape station...the big girls helped the guests make flower pens and a few bow ties.

The kids all made pet rocks...not sure where that came from but I went with it.

It was a perfect party for Merideth...she said it was one of the best days of her life! I am grateful that Merideth has some friends that she has known for several years who were all excited to be a part of her celebration.  Hard to believe that my baby is 6...and Kindergarten is next!
