The dogs are always searching for the poor bunnies that build nests every single year or the bird that dares to land on the ground!!!

We have two really great dogs...Libby and Tara.  I have not written about them much so I thought this would be a good time since they are about to get summer haircuts and will look quite different.  Libby is a Labradoodle and Tara is a mix of terrier and retriever and who knows what else. We got Tara first...6.5 years ago.  She has been the easiest dog ever...pretty much trained herself, never runs away, gentle with kids and a great protector of our family.  She does not like any animals that get to near her backyard and she is definitely the Alpha dog.  She mothers Libby all the time...especially when Libby tries to run out of the gate.  Libby has been with us for 6 years...we got her from the school auction right before Merideth was born.  She is a people lover...she just wants to be wherever we are.  She loves to play fetch and never jumps up.  The girls have not loved having two new kittens in our house but slowly they have gotten used to the idea.  They have learned to tolerate the kittens and even will play with them if the kittens will let them.  The girls always know when we are coming home and they are waiting for us at the gate letting us know they are happy to see us.  I can not imagine our family with out these dogs...and that is amazing since I never wanted animals before we moved here.
